how to design your blog

creating an appropriate experience (user experience?) is/was really our first design project in this class.

design is art that people use—or—art created for a purpose.

consider the user/viewer...how used? why have a blog? what the purpose? design for that in mind...for you, but mostly THEM.

labels/tags are extremely helpful—use 'em, and display in the sidebar.

keywords to guide your blog's design are...
helpful—empathetic to usage
clear—information is easy to digest
practical—only what is required for the purpose
direct—no unnecessary steps/paths
minimal (noise)—understated (see "clear")

so if your blog (tumblr or other) does not allow a viewer (like me) to easily navigate to your (typography) process work...scrap it, modify it, or it won't get graded.

you are required to choose a theme/design that allows:
  1. titling posts
  2. tagging or labeling posts (different than titling)
  3. viewers to comment on posts
  4. navigating through labels/tags or additional pages—displayed in the blog's sidebar
