For this project we were asked to create a typeface using Fontstruct.com and then create a brochure displaying the font and its unique characteristics to persuade others to want to use it. After a lot of exploring and playing around in Fontstruct, I created the typeface, Parallel, a thin font made up of parallel lines that can be described as modern, linear and geometric. The character set is largely inspired by linear and geometric urban and city elements from the subways and streets to the buildings and bridges. The font is mostly used for decorative purposes, but it a fun way to add a big city vibe to any design.
Modern- present, current, contemporary, recent
Geometric- uses basic geometry (lines and shapes)
Linear- straight lines, sequential, extended
